Hey Everyone,

Blushing and I are still going to be there. We still plan on leaving friday morning and still want to ride with a group rather than on our own. I noticed that a lot of people are planning rides but there seem to be like 2-3 different rides. Any definite word yet about an organized, consolidated ride from the Sacramento area to Guerneville friday morning??  The two of us are coming up to Sac from Stockton.

Thanks,

Commie

I'm heading over from Reno early on Friday.  Riding with a group would definitely be nicer!

I'm definitely interested in joining a group of riders. I can't leave Sac until about noon on Friday and want to ride all the way on backroads. If that fits your plan let me know...Laurie

I have to make a stop in Roseville on the way over, so noon should be pretty close.  I'm not totally familiar with all the backroads around Sac, but it appears that once you get near Davis/Woodlands it's pretty much all you get!  I've got a good route once you get to Davis.  Where abouts in Sacramento are you starting?

This is a easy route if you want to stay off the main hwy's. Have rode this route MANY times and enjoy it every time.

Don't know where Land Park is, but I know where the Tower Bridge is javascript:void(0); .  Shall we declare a noontime departure from somewhere near there?  Pick a spot and I'll be there.  Anybody else???

I am trying to confirm my plans.  I have two options..

First option is I am flying solo (from my house) and I will meet anyone, anywhere about noon for a fun scoot to Guernville.

The second option is my wife is going and we are driving the truck. I could then carry gear for anyone who can get it to me.  If this happens, I could also tow any trailer anyone wants at the rally.

Looks like I am solo for this trip. I am up for any ride that starts Friday morning.  I would like to be there as early as possible and willing to pitch in getting things ready at the camp.

Paid via Paypal and ready to go!

There will be a group leaving from the Tower Bridge in Sacramento at 12pm on Friday. We will be taking the backroads all the way to the rally. Any and all riders are welcome to join us. We will leave from the northeast corner of the bridge (there is a good spot on the south side of the Embassy Suites to meet) then on to W. Capital Ave. to Harbor Blvd and then the Old River Rd towards Woodland. Next take co. rd 102 to 27 then 89 to Winters. That's where we can hit 128 for most of the ride...See ya there, Laurie

Excellent!  I think I know exactly where this is so will look for scooters on the south side of Embassy Suites.  Will be riding my silver Burgman 400.

Ha! you beat me to it Mac.
People, be sure to bring layers- mornings and evenings have been cool and breezy...sometimes a little "dewey" in the morning- but all and all, pretty freaking nice weather for August. When talking to some long time residents of this area, they have all said that this is the coldest summer they can remember in a long time. Definitely for me, this is the coldest I have experienced in my 15 years in the area. Not that I am complaining:)

Anybody want to join me on the ride up. I'll be leaving from San Carlos. I can leave any time on Friday (prefer early, but not picky as long as we can beat the Friday PM traffic.

One possible plan if we leave early is to take Hwy 1 all the way up to minimize the freeway time (easier for the smaller scoots but doesn't matter to me...I'm on a 400).

Here are just a few of the silly $31 tattoos going on friday. Jared and the other guys will be drawing up tons more! Im trying to get him to draw something devilish for me, or maybe something special for us scooter trash but no promises. I just saw him draw a whale eating a hot air balloon. This stuff is crazy!

Being the mother hen that I am I want to remind everyone now to make sure they have a full tank before the ride on Saturday. There is "A" gas pump about 2/3 of the way into the route but you'll need the full tank. Okay some will.  Wink The bigger scoots with their bigger tanks won't have an issue. Bullitt's 150 Fly used 3/4 of a tank on this very route.

Just over 100 which is only slightly longer than last years Tahoe ride.

hey all,

Weather is finally turning awesome. It is still a bit "dewey" in morning, but yesterday was the first day I can remember the clouds and fog staying away for most of the night. All good signs. When we were hanging out yesterday I believe it was mid to high seventies, possibly cracking the 80 mark- it has been so cool this summer that even 70 with sun feels pretty warm. See you all out there.

I personally wanted to thank EVERYONE that came out to the rally this weekend. This rally reminded me why I was drawn to the Bastards in the first place. Hearing the positive feed back was amazing. Thank you to the Sac Chapter for having it here in our back yard and of course thank you to everyone that helped in putting it together. But a special thanks to everyone in Sonoma county chapter for not only all your hard work but for not killing me with my over planning and stressing. This was a beautiful weekend and I look forward to next year. Can't wait to see all the pics that where taken over the weekend.

I just wanted to say:

Thanks to all for coming to our neck of the woods for the rally!

Thanks to Boisterous for really kicking ass with planning.

Thanks to my fellow Sonoma County Bastards for kicking ass with everything they did in preparation for the rally.

Thanks to the Bastards for having such and awesome scooter club.

Thanks to that really funny dude who did the amazing Christopher Walken impression (he had me laughing so hard I almost pooped myself.)  We have to do a skit next year with him as Walken and me as Sammy Davis, Jr, or some mobster type...

Thanks to Wiley for kicking ass on the drums.

Thanks to all who joined me on the early bird ride on Friday.  You kicked ass.

This rally kicked ass.

Kick ass!

n00b alert!!!  Shocked

Grin

One of you crazy folks posted this up on ADV and I saw it and I am going to try and make my first scooter rally with you bunch of bastards  Wink

Only bummer is I will probably have to sneak out before the raffle on sunday  Cry

Hey JD,
what ya riding, I am pulling along the mighty power of a zuma 125  Shocked
I was planning on a fun route up too avoiding all but the golden gate as freeway.
I couldn't get your link to work however  Angry even when search for it so not sure what your plans were.
I can't leave that early though  Sad

was thinking woodside -> kings mountain road -> tunitas or 35 to skyline to the coast.
then up and up into pacifica onto sharp park rd to get up to 35 again -> then 35/hwy1
up past the sutro baths then onto the golden gate via the presidio.

down alexandra into sausailito and up and over hwy1 to freestone valley ford to bohemian hwy. Super fun twisty local small roads with hardly any traffic  ;)which will take ya right into monte rio which is a stone throw from the camp ground (almost, I have very strong arms).

What is the mileage for the day ride on sat? Need to bring a wee extra gas can perhaps?

That funny dude was Mark aka Suga. He's been kickin it with us Sac Bastards for well over a year but because of family and work doesn't get out as much as he'd like to. A few of us were sore from laughing so hard with his Walken talk.
